CAMKK2 RNA is quite widespread across various human organs but is highly enriched in the CNS. In the mouse, both RNA and protein are highly expressed throughout the brain, with the protein localised in neuronal nuclei, cytoplasm and neurites, exhibiting lower levels in midbrain and medulla, compared to telencephalic and diencephalic regions.
